On the 15th February 2024, Pakwach District held a colourful and most successful belated NRA/NRM day celebration in Kitawe Primary Schools in Pakwach Sub County under them; ”Building the Country We All Cherish.”
The event attracted a magnitude of participants including General Taban Amin the Deputy Director General of ISO who was the guest of honour.
It was at this same event that seven Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) core mobilizers crossed to the ruling NRM Party.
Among the FDC members who crossed to the mighty NRM party; Adubango Gilbert, Ogenmungu Wilfred, Oyubi Gilbert, Ovuru Robert Gale and Oyirwoth Geoffrey. In fact, they made the bold decision in the presence of their FDC District Chairman Mr. Gilbert Ochan and Constituency MP, Hon Emmanuel Ogiertho (FDC ticket).
The NRM District Chairman Mr. Robert Okumu Arule welcomed the FDC members and commended them for taking such a bold and courageous decision. These were given a permanent seat in their new party by NRM District Administrative Secretary, Mr. Fred Mugisha who handed each member an NRM party card.
The West Nile Coordinator under the Office of National Chairman Ms Irene Nabwiire said she will work together with the party to bring more opposition youth back to NRM.
The Chief Guest, General Taban told the gathering that NRM is a sweet party and asked Ugandans to do away with multiparty dispensation and resort to a single-party system like the case with China, and Russia among others.
