Innovation At Work! Goldstar Insurance Unveils Claims App To Simplify & Speed Up Insurance Processes

By Frank Kamuntu

In a bold move aimed at modernizing and streamlining insurance service delivery, Goldstar Insurance Company Limited has officially launched a new mobile application that enables policyholders to report incidents and make claims easily, efficiently, and transparently — all from the palm of their hand.

The new app, which is now available for download on both Apple and Android devices, was unveiled during a high-profile ceremony held in Kampala on Wednesday.

“Insurance Should Be Simple, Responsive & Client-Centered” — Goldstar Executives

Jay Sakaria, the Chief Actuary at Goldstar Insurance, described the innovation as a major leap toward customer empowerment.

“We’ve always believed that the insurance experience should be simple, responsive, and client-centred. Today, we’re taking a bold step in that direction by unveiling an app that gives our clients the power to manage their claims from anywhere,” said Sakaria.

Sakaria emphasized that the app offers fast, convenient, and digital claims processing, eliminating the need for clients to physically visit insurer offices. Even in offline scenarios, clients can still input their data, which will be updated automatically once internet connectivity is restored.

“Whether it’s a motor accident, property damage, or any other form of loss, this app allows clients to file claims accurately and swiftly — reducing stress during already difficult times,” he added.

Real-Time Interaction & Transparency

John Kawuma, CEO of Goldstar Insurance, stressed the transformative power of innovation in increasing insurance accessibility and trust.

“We want to revolutionize how insurance services are received by our clients. The most crucial stage is claims processing — that’s where people need ease and speed. With this app, instead of calling our offices, you just go to your phone, report your claim, and we begin processing in real-time,” Kawuma said.

He noted that the app fosters instant interaction between the policyholder and insurer, dramatically reducing delays.

Enock Mudadi, Goldstar’s Chief Operations Officer, highlighted the app’s real-time data capture capabilities, including photo, video, GPS location, and timestamped evidence that enables quicker verification and intervention.

“Insurance is a homogeneous product. What differentiates providers is how quickly and effectively they respond at the point of claim. Our app allows us to deploy the right interventions swiftly, including across borders,” said Mudadi.

The app also helps combat fraud, a major concern in the insurance industry. With digitized and traceable claim entries, manipulation becomes significantly harder.

“This is a game-changer. Fraudulent claims have long slowed down the industry, but this system is secure, traceable, and transparent,” he added.

Uniqueness Of Goldstar App:

  • Free to download on Apple App Store and Google Play
  • Secure and compliant with local and international data protection protocols
  • User-friendly interface requiring minimal setup and document upload
  • Real-time support and GPS pinpointing for faster emergency response
  • Already has over 100 active users within just two months of rollout

A Cross-Border Solution For Mobile Clients

Enock Mudadi also pointed out that the app is particularly useful for clients who manage vehicle fleets across the region, enabling communication and claims filing even from countries like Kenya or Tanzania.

“Previously, clients had to travel to our offices or navigate lengthy procedures. Now, if there’s a fire in Mbale or an accident in Nairobi, the report is instant, and so is our response,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Goldstar Turns 30 In 2026

As Goldstar Insurance approaches its 30th anniversary next year, the company is doubling down on client-first innovations and setting benchmarks for Uganda’s insurance sector.

The leadership encouraged both current and potential clients to download the app and explore the seamless experience, while urging users to always report incidents truthfully to avoid delays caused by fraudulent or misleading claims.

“Our claims process is already one of the fastest in the market. This app will make it even quicker — but only if the information shared is honest. False reporting only slows down processing for everyone,” Kawuma cautioned.

With this latest move, Goldstar Insurance Company Limited has firmly positioned itself at the forefront of tech-driven insurance innovation in Uganda, offering clients not just coverage, but control, clarity, and convenience.
