Terrible! Killer Pig ‘Butchers’ 15 People In One Night!

By Our Reporter

Residents of a small village in northern Lesotho are in shock after stories spread online of a giant pig said to have devoured more than 15 people in Lesotho, sparking both fear and ridicule across the country.

According to local folklore now making the rounds on social media, the beast—dubbed “Pigsquatch” by amused internet users—was first sighted near maize fields earlier this month. Witnesses claim the animal, unusually large and aggressive, attacked anyone who ventured too close at night.

“We’ve lost goats, chickens, and now they say people too,” one villager told reporters. “At night, you hear strange grunts and screams. Nobody wants to walk alone.”

Officials, however, have dismissed the accounts as wild exaggeration, suggesting that missing livestock and tragic disappearances in the area may have been attributed to the mythical pig.

Still, the rumours have spread far beyond Lesotho’s borders, with hashtags like #KillerPig and #LesothoLegend trending on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter). Some users compared the tale to Africa’s legendary beasts such as the Namibian “Flying Snake” or the Congolese “Mokele-Mbembe”.

The Ministry of Agriculture issued a tongue-in-cheek statement urging calm, saying: “Pigs are omnivores, but they do not hunt humans. We advise people not to panic—and to stop feeding myths.”

Meanwhile, tourism promoters have cheekily suggested turning the story into an attraction, dubbing it “Lesotho’s Loch Ness Monster.”
