Planning is in high gear for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Delegates’ Conference 2025, with organizational meetings already underway at Kololo Independence Grounds.
The NRM Secretariat, the Office of the National Chairman, and security agencies have formed steering committees to coordinate logistics, security, and protocol for the week-long political marathon, which is expected to draw over 25,000 leaders—from the sub-county to the national level.
In a planning session chaired on Monday by NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, members discussed strategies to ensure cohesion, coordination, and efficiency in hosting the event.
Todwong urged the committees to exceed past performance, stressing discipline and order during delegate arrivals and meetings.
“My expectations from the organizing committee are to do a much better job than before. They should be much more committed to their work and make sure that the conference is successful at all levels,” Todwong said.
SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, who heads the Office of the NRM National Chairman, rallied committee members to diligently execute their responsibilities.
She emphasized that their collective effort would determine the success of the conference.
Accreditation of delegates is already ongoing at Nakawa ICT Center ahead of the grand gathering at Kololo.
Hon. Emmanuel Dombo, NRM Director of Communication and spokesperson for the organizing committee, confirmed that the oversight team will be chaired by the party’s First National Vice Chairman, Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, while operations will be under the direct supervision of the Secretary General, Todwong. Subcommittees will continue to meet daily to streamline conference activities.
“We are doing all this on behalf of the National Chairman, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the President of the Republic of Uganda,” Dombo stated.
Top NRM officials, including Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, National Treasurer Hon. Amb. Barbara Nekesa, Deputy National Treasurer Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, Director of Mobilization Dr. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, Director of Finance and Administration Hajjat Medina Naham, and NRM EC Commissioner Driwaru Zaitun, also participated in the planning meeting.
