Police have arrested singer Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, in connection with the death of fellow musician Wilfred Namuwaya, alias Top Dancer.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He said Alien Skin was picked up and taken to Katwe Police Station, where detectives are recording his statement.
According to police, Namuwaya’s death stems from a violent attack allegedly orchestrated by Alien Skin after the deceased quit the Fangone Forest music group, a clique led by the controversial singer.
Investigations indicate that on September 20, 2025, Namuwaya was forcibly removed from his home in Ndeeba by a Fangone Forest associate identified as Musomali. Police claim Musomali was acting on Alien Skin’s instructions to discipline Namuwaya for leaving the group without permission.
The victim was later discovered badly injured in Mpomba Zone and rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital by a good Samaritan. He succumbed to his injuries two days later, on September 22.
“This is a serious matter. The suspects, including Alien Skin, orchestrated a violent attack on the victim, and we are determined to bring all those involved to justice,” SSP Onyango said.
A History Of Trouble
This is not the first time Alien Skin has faced the law. In December 2024, he was remanded to Luzira Prison on robbery charges after a viral video showed his gang assaulting hospital staff at Nsambya. He was accused of stealing an iPhone 15 Pro, Shs480,000, and a wallet containing a national ID, allegations he denied.
The singer’s reputation for street brawls has long divided Uganda’s entertainment industry. While some musicians, like Pius Mayanja a.k.a. Pallaso, once defended him as a misunderstood product of the ghetto, their relationship later turned hostile. In January 2025, Pallaso allegedly led a raid on Alien Skin’s Makindye home after a bitter feud.
Alien Skin has also been linked to political violence, including accusations of mobilizing gangs against National Unity Platform supporters at their Kavule headquarters in late 2024.
The arrest has reignited debate about accountability and safety in Uganda’s music industry, where celebrity cliques sometimes operate like street gangs.
While police continue investigations, Alien Skin remains in custody as pressure mounts on the authorities to deliver justice for Namuwaya’s family.
