Pictorial: Faces Of Seven Family Members Killed In Masaka–Mbarara Highway Crash

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of seven members of the same family in the early hours of Saturday, December 27, on the Masaka–Mbarara Highway in Lwengo District.

The crash occurred at around 4:30 a.m. at Njagalakasayi Village and involved a Toyota Fielder, registration number UBH 476W, and a Fuso Fighter truck, registration number UBP 510V. Preliminary investigations suggest the Toyota Fielder, traveling from Masaka toward Mbarara, attempted to overtake a queue of vehicles and collided head-on with the oncoming Fuso truck.

All seven occupants of the Toyota Fielder died at the scene. According to the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Twaha Kasirye, the victims were a man, his wife, their four children, and the man’s brother.
