Victoria University is mourning the death of Dr. Tom Mugizi, a dedicated and respected lecturer whose contribution to teaching and mentorship left a lasting mark on the institution and its academic community.

In a message to the university community, Vice Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Muganga described the loss as deeply painful, noting that Dr. Mugizi was more than a colleague.

“Today is a sorrowful day for the Victoria University community as we grieve the loss of our brother, friend, and esteemed lecturer, Dr. Tom Mugizi,” Prof. Muganga said. “My sincere condolences go to his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in heavenly peace.”

In a separate statement, Victoria University praised Dr. Mugizi as an educator whose character and commitment distinguished him throughout his service.
