“God Was With You”: Six Schools Okello Targeted Before Ggaba Attack | Full List Out!

By Swift Reporter

Shocking details emerging from ongoing investigations into the Ggaba daycare killings have revealed that suspect Christopher Okello Onyum may have considered multiple other targets before carrying out the deadly attack that shocked the nation.

The killings at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program triggered widespread grief and outrage, as families mourned the loss of young children killed in a place meant to provide care and safety. The incident has since raised urgent concerns about security in early childhood institutions across the country.

Investigators now say the suspect’s plans may have extended far beyond Ggaba. Evidence presented in court indicates that Onyum allegedly conducted extensive online research prior to the attack, including searches linked to extremist violence as well as detailed location lookups.

Among the places he reportedly researched were Bunga Police Station, Kyanja Junior School, Matugga Preschool, Lam Kindergarten and Daycare Centre, Mom’s Love Kindergarten, Edibet ECD, and Golden Infant Kindergarten. Authorities believe this pattern points to a broader and more alarming intent, suggesting that multiple schools could have been targeted.

Proceedings are currently being held at the Ggaba Community Church grounds, bringing the judicial process closer to the affected community.

Presiding over the case is Alice Komuhangi Khaukha, who is hearing testimony amid emotional scenes from witnesses, investigators, and grieving families seeking justice.

In court, Police Cyber Crime Detective Henry Kenneth Angulo, attached to the Directorate of Forensic Services, testified that digital evidence shows the suspect used mapping technology to identify Church Close in Ggaba, the exact location of the daycare center. Prosecutors argue that this demonstrates deliberate reconnaissance ahead of the attack.

Prosecutors maintain that the combination of digital searches, mapped locations, and recovered materials points to clear premeditation. As hearings continue, the case is expected to further shed light on the extent of planning behind the attack, while intensifying calls for stronger safeguards to protect vulnerable children in educational settings.
