Bloody! Seven Killed On Spot As Toyota Fielder Overturns On Mbarara–Bushenyi Highway

Seven people have been confirmed dead and two others seriously injured following a tragic road accident at Rushara in Kabwohe along the Mbarara–Bushenyi Highway.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday at 6am, involving a black Toyota Fielder, registration number UA 702DL, which was traveling from Bushenyi towards Mbarara.
According to Uganda Police Force, all seven victims died on the spot, while two survivors sustained critical injuries and were rushed to ICOBI Hospital for emergency treatment.
The Acting Greater Bushenyi Region Police spokesperson, Apollo Tayebwa, confirmed the incident and said investigations into the cause of the crash are underway.
Preliminary findings indicate that the victims were returning from overnight prayers at St. Rose Catholic Church, with many believed to be residents of Rukinga, Kabingo, Kitooha, and Karushegu.
Police responded promptly to the scene, securing the area and facilitating the evacuation of the injured. The bodies of the deceased were later transported to Kabwohe Health Centre III mortuary for postmortem examination.
Police have urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads, particularly during early morning hours, as efforts continue to establish the exact circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
