The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has this morning intensified mobilization efforts for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s upcoming inauguration as she led a major general cleaning and sanitation exercise at Kalerwe Market in Kampala.

The exercise, which attracted hundreds of vendors, youth, and residents, was aimed at promoting hygiene, improving sanitation standards, and creating a healthier working environment for traders operating in one of Kampala’s busiest markets.

Upon arrival, Hajjat Namyalo was warmly welcomed by both political and market leaders and vendors, many of whom expressed excitement over her visit and praised her continued engagement with ordinary Ugandans at the grassroots level.

During interactions with the traders, several vendors emotionally appealed to Namyalo to relay their concerns to President Museveni, particularly regarding lack of business capital and financial empowerment opportunities.

The vendors noted that although many of them are hardworking entrepreneurs, limited access to capital continues to hinder the growth of their businesses and their ability to improve household incomes.

“We only need empowerment and support to expand our businesses. If we get financial assistance, we can transform our lives and take care of our families,” one of the vendors said during the engagement.

In response, Hajjat Namyalo assured the traders that the government under President Museveni has already prioritized programs aimed at uplifting Ugandans from poverty to wealth creation.

She revealed that after the President’s swearing-in next week, more empowerment initiatives targeting youth, women, and market vendors will be rolled out to improve livelihoods across the country.

“President Museveni has many plans for Ugandans after the swearing-in, especially programs intended to uplift wananchi from poverty into wealth creation. The future is bright for the Bazzukulu who are ready to work and support government programs,” Namyalo told the cheering crowd.

Her remarks sparked excitement among the vendors, who broke into chants praising both President Museveni and Hajjat Namyalo for what they described as “leadership that listens to ordinary people.”

The traders also commended Namyalo for her hands-on style of leadership, saying she stands out from many public officials because she directly interacts with local communities instead of remaining confined to offices.

“Hajjat Namyalo is different. She comes to the people, listens to us, cleans with us, and understands our struggles. Many leaders stay in offices, but for her, she reaches the common person,” one female vendor remarked.

For hours, Namyalo moved through different sections of the market participating in the cleaning exercise, greeting vendors, and encouraging residents to embrace cleanliness and unity.

She later concluded her tour by urging the thousands of Bazzukulu in Kalerwe Market and surrounding areas to turn up in large numbers at Kololo Independence Grounds on Tuesday to witness and celebrate President Museveni’s inauguration ceremony.

“We want all Bazzukulu to come and celebrate this historic moment with their newly elected President. Let us come together in unity and support the leadership that is committed to transforming Uganda,” she said.

The event ended amid excitement, with many vendors pledging to attend the inauguration celebrations and expressing optimism about the government’s promised empowerment programs.
