Restless Namyalo Traverses Makindye, Rallies Bazzukulu To Participate In LC Polls

    By Swift Reporter

The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, on Tuesday intensified grassroots mobilization in Makindye Division, where she monitored the ongoing voter registration and voter register verification exercise ahead of the forthcoming Local Council (LC) and Women Council elections.

Namyalo kicked off her tour in Lubowa Village, Kibuli Parish, before proceeding to Hospital zone and later Kitawuluzi Village in Nsambya Central zone where she met residents, aspiring local leaders and women candidates contesting in the upcoming elections.

Addressing residents, Namyalo urged Ugandans, particularly the Bazzukulu, to actively participate in the electoral process by verifying their details on the voters’ register and turning up to elect leaders committed to improving service delivery at the grassroots.

She encouraged voters to support National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates, saying leaders who work closely with the ruling government are better placed to coordinate development programmes and deliver services to their communities.

During her stop in Nsambya Central, women leaders and NRM candidates praised Namyalo for her continued grassroots engagement, describing her as a leader who has remained committed to empowering ordinary Ugandans.

One of the aspiring leaders, Nasuuna Lukia, said Namyalo’s presence in the area had strengthened their confidence and demonstrated the ONC’s commitment to supporting local communities.

“Namyalo has come to show us that we, the NRM candidates, are working closely with the ONC. If elected, we shall work with the office to link our communities to President Museveni’s wealth creation programmes,” Lukia said.

Speaking to women leaders, Namyalo reaffirmed the ONC’s commitment to empowering women economically so they can become financially independent.

She said women should elect leaders who are compassionate, transparent and genuinely committed to serving their communities.

Namyalo also criticized opposition politicians, accusing them of concentrating on opposing government programmes instead of supporting initiatives that improve the welfare of ordinary citizens.

While meeting residents in Kitawuluzi Village, locals raised concerns over delayed Parish Development Model (PDM) funds, saying they had fulfilled all the registration requirements but had never received the government financial support.

In response, Namyalo expressed concern over the delays, saying government had released funds for the programme and promised to follow up the matter with the relevant authorities.

She assured residents that she would ensure eligible beneficiaries receive the money meant to improve household incomes under the government’s wealth creation agenda.

The ONC manager said monitoring voter registration and engaging communities remains part of the office’s efforts to encourage greater public participation in the upcoming grassroots elections while ensuring wananchi benefit from government programmes.
