Pastor Manjeri Collapses While Preaching, Congregation In Panic Over Health Condition

Concern has gripped worshippers and followers of Bethel Healing Ministries after the church’s lead pastor, Pastor Irene Manjeri, collapsed while preaching during a Sunday service.

The 56-year-old preacher was delivering a sermon when she suddenly paused, appearing to struggle with her speech before telling the congregation that she needed to rest.

In a video circulating on social media, Pastor Manjeri is heard saying, “Let me rest. Let me go home and sleep. Bye. Bye,” moments before church ushers and fellow ministers moved to assist her off the stage.

As they escorted her from the pulpit, she appeared to lose her balance and collapsed, prompting immediate concern among members of the congregation.

One church official quickly appealed for calm, urging worshippers not to panic as Pastor Manjeri was lifted and carried away from the platform.

The service was briefly interrupted as church leaders attended to the pastor.

By Sunday evening, Bethel Healing Ministries had not released an official statement regarding Pastor Manjeri’s condition, and the cause of the apparent medical emergency remained unknown.

Pastor Manjeri is one of Uganda’s most prominent Pentecostal preachers and the founder of Bethel Healing Ministries. She leads the ministry’s main congregation in Kitende and oversees another branch at the former Pride Theatre along Namirembe Road in Kampala.

Over the years, she has built a large following through sermons focused on healing, deliverance and faith, while also spearheading charitable initiatives through Bethel Healing Charity Home, which supports vulnerable children.

As news of the incident spread online, many followers took to social media to offer prayers and messages of support, expressing hope for her swift recovery.

At the time of publication, neither the church nor Pastor Manjeri’s family had provided further details about her health, with many Ugandans awaiting an official update on her condition.
