Campaigns officially begin on September 29, 2025, with candidates launching in different parts of the country. President Museveni will flag off his campaign in Munyonyo, Kasibante in Mityana, Kyagulanyi in Jinja, Muntu in Buikwe, and Mafabi in Kawempe. Other candidates will begin in their designated districts before fanning out nationwide.

October – Nationwide Sweep

Throughout October, candidates will traverse key regions, including Luweero, Iganga, Jinja, Hoima, Fort Portal, Kasese, Mbarara, Gulu, Soroti, Mbale, and Masaka. Each contender has a distinct trail to avoid clashes but will cover both rural strongholds and urban centers. By mid-October, Museveni will be in Rukiga, Kyagulanyi in Kalungu, and Muntu in Butambala and Mpigi.

November – Eastern and Northern Focus

November takes the campaigns east and north, covering Soroti, Ngora, Bukedea, Sironko, Kumi, and Mbale before heading to the northern districts of Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Adjumani, Arua, Koboko, and Yumbe. By the end of the month, the spotlight returns to central Uganda, with stops in Kampala and Wakiso.

December – Western & Central Domination

December begins in Kasese, Bundibugyo, Buliisa, and Fort Portal, before shifting to Mbarara, Ntungamo, Kisoro, Kabale, Rubanda, and Rukiga. Campaigns will pause for the Christmas holiday (December 24–26).

January – Final Lap in Kampala

The final stretch resumes on December 27, 2025, focusing heavily on the capital. Candidates will campaign in Nansana, Entebbe, Kira, Kawempe, Rubaga, and Makindye, before concluding with a grand rally in Kampala on January 12, 2026, just days before polling.

Key Highlights of the Programme

  • Balanced Coverage: Candidates are allocated different districts daily, ensuring fairness and avoiding clashes.
  • Holiday Breaks: Campaigns pause for Christmas (Dec 24–26) and New Year (Dec 31–Jan 1).
  • Strategic Timing: Major urban centers such as Kampala, Masaka, Jinja, Gulu, Mbale, and Mbarara are reserved for the final phase, underlining their political importance.

The Electoral Commission said the roadmap was designed to ensure equitable regional coverage, respect for holidays, and orderly campaigning ahead of Uganda’s landmark 2026 elections.
