Former State Minister for Investment and Privatisation Evelyn Anite has brushed aside speculation about her wellbeing following her exclusion from President Yoweri Museveni’s new Cabinet, instead sharing light-hearted and fitness-focused posts on social media.

The 41-year-old former minister, who served in Cabinet for more than a decade, appeared upbeat as she addressed the online chatter for the first time since the May 26, 2026 Cabinet reshuffle.

Anite was among several ministers dropped in the reshuffle and was replaced by Hon. Amina Mukalazi. She has since been appointed as a senior presidential advisor.

Rather than commenting directly on the political developments, Anite turned to social media to highlight her focus on fitness, family, and business interests. In a series of posts, she shared videos of herself exercising in a gym, showcasing her flexibility and energetic routine.

“I am busy in the gym practising summer holidays style,” she wrote alongside one of the clips.

In another post on X (formerly Twitter), Anite reflected on her approach to life, comparing it to a strategic game.

“Life is like playing a chess game. You must be a strategic planner and thinker so as to be several steps ahead of the curve,” she wrote. “That’s how I’ve lived my life. That’s why nothing surprises me in life.”

Her comments came amid growing social media speculation about how she was coping after her exit from Cabinet. Some online discussions escalated following unverified reports suggesting she had been sent to rehabilitation after being dropped from the government lineup—claims that were widely circulated but not substantiated.

Supporters of the former minister dismissed the rumours, saying she remained focused on her business ventures and family life.

Anite later joined the conversation herself, responding with humor and dismissing the speculation.

“Wama let’s ignore them. They don’t know that I am busy in the gym practising summer holidays style for the captain of my natural waters,” she wrote, alongside a video of her workout session.

Despite her exit from Cabinet, Anite’s posts suggest she is embracing her new role as senior presidential advisor while maintaining an active presence in public and political discourse.
