President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni over the weekend marked the silver jubilee of their daughter Natasha Karugire’s marriage to prominent lawyer and businessman Edwin Karugire, in a celebration steeped in glamour, faith, and family pride.
In a heartfelt statement on Sunday, the President expressed deep gratitude to God for guiding the couple through 25 years of marriage, blessing them with children, good health, and unshakable unity.
“We thanked God for uniting and keeping them together, and for granting them children and health. We commend their marriage journey and wish them continued blessings,” Museveni declared.
Natasha, a celebrated filmmaker and author, is best known for the historical blockbuster 27 Guns, a cinematic portrayal of the NRA bush war. Her husband, Edwin Karugire, a senior partner at Kiryowa Karugire Advocates, has built an enviable reputation for representing Uganda’s most high-profile clients.
The couple, who tied the knot in the year 2000, have become a symbol of enduring love in Uganda’s elite circles—balancing public prominence with private devotion. Museveni hailed their 25-year journey as “a testimony to the blessings of family and the grace of God in sustaining marriage.”
