Entebbe, Uganda — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has expressed deep satisfaction with the new crop of National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders who have recently taken up top positions within the party, describing them as “committed mobilizers and loyal leaders” who will safeguard the Movement’s future.
During the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at State House Entebbe this week, Museveni said the emergence of energetic young leaders was proof that the party’s roots remain strong and capable of carrying the NRM legacy forward.
“I am happy with these new and committed leaders who are strengthening the NRM. They are mobilizers, they are loyal, and they are ready to defend and grow the Movement,” Museveni noted during the meeting.
Among those recognized was Prosper Kururagire Tuhaise, the NRM Chairman for Mbarara District, whom the President personally called out and praised for his loyalty, commitment, and ability to mobilize communities. Museveni recalled that Prosper’s parents were staunch members of the Movement and said he was proud to see their son take the mantle of leadership to even greater heights.

With such leaders in place, Museveni and the NRM are well positioned for a “mega victory in 2026 and beyond.”
He drew on a vivid metaphor to emphasize his confidence in the new crop of leaders, saying that “a white hawk with many young ones will never be attacked by dogs, because if the dogs attack it, its young ones will rise to defend it.” He likened this to the current wave of new leaders in NRM, stressing that they will stand firm to protect and advance the party’s legacy.
How NRM’s New Workaholic & Big-Hearted Leaders Are Attracting Millions Of Supporters To Their Party
The President’s optimism is mirrored on the ground, where leaders like Prosper are steadily attracting more supporters to the party through personal sacrifice and community empowerment.
Prosper has won admiration especially among the youth for his big-hearted initiatives. In education, he pays school fees for more than 50 students at St. Mark Lubingo, covers almost half of the learners at St. Emmanuel Kitengure, and supports many others in different schools. At the university level, he sponsors over 30 students, all funded from his own resources.
Beyond education, Prosper founded Bwizibwera United Football Club to rally youth around sports and discipline.
You thought the above is enough, no, the tycoon is doing alot more, for example, he employs more than 600 young people in Uganda and Burundi, and has supported countless churches across Western Uganda by contributing towards roofing and other construction projects.
His activism against land fraud and injustice in Mbarara has also made him popular as a defender of the common people, and a lion against corruption further cementing his status as a trusted leader.
Party insiders say such leaders are the reason communities are embracing NRM more strongly, as they combine loyalty to Museveni with tangible service to the people.
