Kampala — Momentum is building at Victoria University ahead of a highly anticipated public lecture by Col. Edith Nakalema, the Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, who is set to address students, stakeholders, and the general public this Monday.
The lecture, themed “Patriotism and Responsible Citizenship: Nurturing a Safe and Conscious Generation,” will focus on instilling national values, strengthening civic responsibility, and challenging young people to play a more active role in shaping Uganda’s future.
According to the university’s Co-operative Education Office, the session is intended to spark meaningful dialogue around nation-building, integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership—areas Col. Nakalema has been widely recognized for championing.
The engagement comes at a time when Uganda continues to grapple with issues of youth unemployment, moral erosion, and rising apathy in civic affairs. Organizers believe that conversations like these can inspire young people to understand their role as custodians of the country’s future.
The lecture will take place at the Victoria University Auditorium from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and is open to members of the public who wish to participate in the discussion.
As part of Victoria University’s ongoing efforts to empower students through exposure to national leaders and policy influencers, the institution says such forums are crucial in shaping a generation that is not only skilled, but also principled and patriotic.
