Karuna Wellness Studio and Calabash Spa & Salon have partnered to promote breast cancer awareness and raise funds for patients through a wellness event scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Kampala.
Dubbed “Pilates for a Purpose,” the event will be held at Calabash Spa & Salon at Speke Apartments Wampewo as part of activities marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Under the theme “Move with Intention. Support with Heart,” the initiative will combine physical exercise, health education and fundraising to encourage early detection and support people affected by breast cancer.
The programme will feature a floor Pilates session led by Karuna Wellness Studio and a breast cancer awareness discussion facilitated by a medical professional from the Uganda Cancer Society.
Participants will receive information on recognising potential warning signs, the importance of early detection and seeking timely medical attention. A symbolic pink ribbon moment will also be held to demonstrate solidarity with breast cancer patients and their families.
Organisers say participants will contribute a minimum of Shs50,000, with all funds raised directed to the Uganda Cancer Society to support breast cancer patients.
Karuna Wellness Studio will lead the fitness session, while Calabash Spa & Salon will provide the venue and hospitality support, including refreshments and opportunities for participants to interact in a pink-themed setting.
The partnership reflects the organisers’ commitment to using wellness activities to promote community health and support people facing the challenges of breast cancer.
The organisers say the initiative aims to encourage more conversations about breast health and inspire individuals to take proactive steps towards early detection, while reminding the public that community support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.
