The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has urged students of Namagabi Secondary School in Kayunga District to protect their future by embracing discipline, patience and perseverance while avoiding reckless behaviour.
Namyalo made the call while presiding over the school’s old students’ reunion as Chief Guest, where she challenged learners to recognise their potential, make responsible choices and remain focused on their education.
“What is inside you is precious, guard it well. Be patient and persevere,” Namyalo told the students, emphasising the importance of protecting their talents and making decisions that support their long-term ambitions.
She encouraged the learners to take co-curricular activities seriously, saying education should extend beyond classroom instruction to equip students with the skills, confidence and versatility needed to succeed in life.
“Give these activities your time. School is supposed to train versatile humans to prepare them for the world. Develop your talent in them,” she said.
Namyalo also used the reunion to highlight the achievements of former students who have established themselves in business and other fields, including individuals who own prominent properties in Kampala. Their success stories provided an opportunity to inspire current learners to appreciate the value of education, hard work and determination.
The gathering brought together former students, current learners, school administrators and other members of the Namagabi Secondary School community to celebrate the institution’s legacy and recognise the contribution of its alumni.
The reunion also featured sporting activities, with students and former students competing in football, netball and volleyball matches. The games provided an opportunity for interaction across generations while reinforcing teamwork, physical fitness and the role of sports in school life.
Namyalo’s message centred on the need for students to safeguard their potential, develop their talents and cultivate the discipline required to turn their ambitions into achievements.
The reunion offered a platform for former students to reconnect with their school while encouraging the current generation to draw inspiration from those who have progressed beyond the classroom into professional and business life.
