Ray G’s Mother: The 16yr Old School Girl Who Almost Aborted ‘King Of The West’

When thousands of fans gathered at Kololo Airstrip on August 7, 2026, to sing, dance and celebrate Ray G, they saw the successful musician, the hitmaker and the man affectionately known as the “King of the West.”

But behind the cheers and bright stage lights is a deeply personal story that began decades ago, when the musician’s mother was still a teenage schoolgirl facing a future she had never imagined.

According to her account, she was only 16 years old, still in school and pregnant when she found herself confronted with a decision that would change the course of her life.

‘I Was Still In School’
