The reported arrest came just hours after the singer had been in Kampala city centre mobilising fans to attend his much-anticipated concert scheduled for Friday at Kololo Airstrip.

According to eyewitnesses and videos circulating on social media, a group of armed security personnel arrived at the singer’s residence in Kyanja and subsequently took him away.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots during the operation, while one person was reportedly injured in the leg and rushed to hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries had not been independently established by press time.
